1. Scope
This agreement applies to your use of Ting Reader and its related features, services, website, and documentation. By installing, starting, or continuing to use the software, you are deemed to have read and agreed to all terms of this agreement.
2. Nature of the Software
Ting Reader is a self-hosted audiobook management and playback tool. It only provides technical capabilities for audio management, playback, metadata organization, plugin extension, and multi-device sync in a local or user-owned network environment. The software itself does not provide, host, distribute, or bundle any third-party audiobook resources.
3. Content Sources and Authorization
Audio content, covers, descriptions, author or narrator information, tags, metadata, and related links that users access, store, index, play, display, share, or distribute through WebDAV, network storage, local folders, plugins, scrapers, external links, or other methods are solely the user's responsibility.
Users must ensure that they have obtained necessary, sufficient, lawful, and valid authorization when using, storing, distributing, or playing related content, and must not infringe any third party's copyright, neighboring rights, trademark rights, portrait rights, privacy rights, reputation rights, trade secrets, or other lawful rights and interests.
4. User Conduct Responsibility
Users must not use the software to access, store, play, distribute, or share any illegal, infringing, unauthorized, over-authorized, or otherwise non-compliant content under applicable laws, regulations, or platform rules. Complaints, disputes, penalties, claims, losses, or legal liabilities arising from unlawful content sources, insufficient authorization, use beyond authorization, improper distribution, or other user conduct are borne solely by the user.
5. Plugins and Third-party Services
The software supports plugins and third-party data source extensions. Plugins, scrapers, external APIs, WebDAV services, network storage services, and other third-party services may be provided by third parties. The software does not guarantee their availability, accuracy, security, legality, or authorization status. Before installing, enabling, or using such plugins and services, users should review their source, permissions, data processing methods, and compliance status.
6. Data and Security
Users are responsible for their deployment environment, account passwords, access permissions, reverse proxy, public sharing, network exposure, storage mappings, backup strategy, and data security configuration. Developers and publishers are not liable for data leakage, data loss, service unavailability, or other losses caused by improper configuration, permission leakage, network exposure, third-party service failures, device failures, or user operations.
7. Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the software is provided as is, without any express or implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, continuous availability, data accuracy, compatibility, security, or error-free operation. Developers, maintainers, and publishers are not liable to users or any third party for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential losses arising from installing, deploying, using, or being unable to use the software, or from content accessed, stored, played, or distributed by users.
8. Continued Use Means Acceptance
By installing, deploying, starting, or continuing to use the software, you are deemed to have read, understood, and agreed to the full license and disclaimer. If you do not agree to these terms, you should immediately stop installing, deploying, and using the software.
